A Clean Thrust: Unapix Buying Net Horror Site

Distribution company Unapix Entertainment Inc. expanded its Internet holdings Thursday with the acquisition of HorrorMovies.com, a popular Internet site.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, as part of the sale, HorrorMovies.com founder Attila Juhasz was named director of Internet marketing at Unapix Direct Media, the unit that runs Unapix's various
Web sites.
Unapix officials said the acquisition will enable the company to cross-promote the company's theatrical, video and broadcast products and Unapix's horror film library.
Further, Unapix can take advantage of HorrorMovie.com's e-commerce business.
"Horror is the area in which we see the greatest potential for developing a loyal and broad consumer constituency," Unapix CEO David Fox said. |
