Nazareth No Mean City

This was one of the loudest concerts I have ever attended. My ears were ringing for days. The band was very hot, supporting an equally amazing record.

Nazareth Cinema

The first of the two show, I actually hung out with the band all day prior to the show. Doing shots with Dan MacAfferty was a lot of fun. We talked about Monty Python and had a lot of laughs. I also then went out to dinner with the group prior to the show. They put on an amazing set.

Nektar (with Dave Nelson on vocals & lead guitar)

Magic is a Child

Excellent headlining show at The Palladium. Though Roye was out of the band, Dave Nelson did well on vocals and lead guitar. This was an underated album, actually the least favorite of most Nektar fans, but I thought it was quite good and the tour was equal to the task.

Nektar (with Roye Albrighton on vocals & lead guitar) Man in the Moon

Actually billed as Roye Albrighton's Nektar (Comeback tour 1979) with only Roye and Taff Freeman (keys) from the original line-up. This was actually better than the Magic is a Child tour as Roye is really Nektar. His vocals and guitar work are the signature sounds. Hearing classics like "Remember the Future" in its entirety as well as side one of "Recycled" were brilliant. I was in high school at the time and being artistically inclined, I actually drew the posters and the fliers used to promote one of their shows. I got to meet the band which was very exciting for me.

New England New England
Debut LP Tour - They opened for Kiss one year. Good show, and very good debut LP. Sounded somewhat like a pop, lighter UFO.

Nugent, Ted Cat Scratch Fever

Excellent, hard rocking show at a sold out MSG. I was in orchestra and didn't even know that some sort of riot occured during the show. After it was over I turned around and saw the majority of orchestra demolished with chairs piled up in a huge mound.

Nugent, Ted Double Live Gonzo

Another hard rocking solid show by the Motorcity madman. Sadly he was booked as a double bill with Lynyrd Skynyrd and while I'm not a big fan of southern rock, it was a blow to rock and roll when their plane crashed. However, the show went on, with Nugent headlining, and AC/DC with Bon Scott were on the bill promoting their then forthcoming release Highway to Hell.
