Did You Ever Have a “Gotta Win It” Moment?

Did you ever have “Gotta Win It” moment? Whether it was in a competition, as a sports fan, or in your career? Here are 3 different types of my “Gotta Win It” moments.

When I was in my late 20s, I was playing in an amateur touch football league playoff game that we had to win to advance. I made my biggest play of the season by blocking a pass and intercepting it thus securing our win to make the finals. I was voted Defensive Player of the Year by the league.

As a huge NY Rangers fan, it was watching the 1994 Game 7 Conference finals of The New York Rangers vs. The New Jersey Devils. I kept saying “we Gotta win it” all night. And when Stéphane Matteau scored in OT, I jumped off the couch and cheered like I never cheered for anything before.

Now the big one. Life. My career. Back in 2012, I had to reinvent myself after losing my 7 year tenure at Metal God Entertainment because the owners were in a lawsuit with each other. At 50, ageism was prevalent in my job searching. I felt like I was being defeated. Continuous rejection can cause depression which can be crippling, but I persevered and decided to become a Roku publisher in 2015 thus forming ACWTV. While the first five years were a challenge, ACWTV exploded in 2020 and has been flourishing since. That challenge was my “Gotta Win It” moment and I won.

With ACWTV’s success and exciting new projects in development for 2025, I was inspired to write music again. I let out my ponytail and recorded another motivational rock song. It’s called, you guessed it, “Gotta Win It.”

It’s a simple, fun, short, electrifying hard rocker that captures the relentless passion and determination required to succeed or win. I take on rhythm and lead guitars, as well as bass. The song was enhanced with additional guitar licks by the iconic Roy Z of Tribe of Gypsies, Bruce Dickinson, and Halford. Roy Z also mixed the song. The track is further elevated by the powerful vocals of Sean “SAKO” Kenesie. “Gotta Win It” was mastered by Grammy and Juno Award-winning engineer Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California – USA.

“Gotta Win It” kicks off on all streaming platforms Thursday September 5th.
